Hey moms and dads, everyone calls me Babu. I will be 14-months-old in March 10. Phoenix, Baltimore, Kathmandu, Doha, Bali, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Cancun, I have been traveling ever since I was three months old. Having been on more than 15 flights, some as long as 18 hours, I have seen the snowy mountains in Nepal, temples in Bali and wonderful beaches in Australia. That’s what you call a well-traveled toddler!
Now this may sound a bit crazy; when I was six months, my mama took me for a solo trip to Nepal, Australia and Indonesia for three months. From finding the best flights to most efficient routes to every little item for me, she planned it all so well. Guess she has an addiction of ordering from Amazon, which grew ever so more when she bought something called a ‘prime membership’ that offered free two-day shipping! If you want to check out, they have a promotional offer going on – 30-day free trial for new customers or six months free trial for students! But please don’t get addicted like my mama.
My mama made a list of her favorite 10 items that really helped her during this travel with me. She wanted to share it with all the parents, but, she is a bit shy, so I took it upon myself to tell you about these amazing things!
1. The Mustache Pacifier For The New Man In Your Life
Honestly, mama bought this more for fashion than convenience! She might be shy and nerdy, but she has a great sense of humor. She thought I would look really cute with it and so I did! People on flights, restaurants or streets called me a perfect gentleman. A big thank you folks!
2. Carry On Carrier For Infants And Older Babies Up To 40lbs
Infantino Carry On Carrier (4.4 out of 5 stars,166 customer reviews), $38.99
As I like to snuggle with mama whenever I can, I was glad she bought this, as I have a choice to sit at front or the back. Not only did I enjoy my naps in it, I could also go to the beach, take stairs instead of elevators and go along with my mama everywhere. My milk, beep and my yogurt pouch could be nicely tucked in its pockets. It was especially useful when we went to Bali because there were so many temples that had unending stairs. On a stroller it would have been a bumpy ride, but not with this carrier. I had a great time for sure!
3. Scarf With Multiple Purposes
My mama never forgot to pack this when we were on trips. She used it every day when we traveled. During flights, in restaurants or even while walking, she used this shawl to feed me. She covered my stroller or car seat while I took naps. She also used it a lot while pumping milk. A very strong shawl it is; really impressive! Stretched by me many times and literally overused, it’s still without damage.
4. Device To Track Your Baby’s Location
As Mama was traveling solo, she wanted to be really careful. So, she attached this tracker with my pacifier. Mama told me she could always see where I was in her phone. If I went a little far, it would make a beep-beep-beep sound to let my mama know. I was really being tracked, you see!
5. Microwave Bottle Sterilizer
At some places there wasn’t enough pure water to clean my bottles, so Mama used this. Never once did I fall sick. I didn’t use this personally so can’t write more. But you can check out their page for more detail if you want.
6. USB Charging Breast Pump
As I was breastfeeding, Mama had to pump milk every two hours to have enough milk for me for the next two days. Her machine was really big though, so it needed an extra bag, but this one fit in her handbag perfectly and she could carry it easily during travel. It allowed her to pump anywhere; flights, cars, restaurants or airports. Really cool, right?
7. Compact, Portable And Easy To Fold Take Along Bouncer
When I got tired sitting on her lap or she got weary holding me, she placed me comfortably in this bouncer. I took lovely naps in this all the time during my travel. My mama would strap it to her carry-on luggage while flying. It didn’t bounce on its own or with my movements, but mama could bounce it a little! Stay away if you want something really bouncy. During travel, this is most comfy and easy to carry but it’s not very comfortable for regular use.
8. Take Along Mobile With 30 Minutes Of Uninterrupted Music
This toy is really cool and held my attention like nothing else. So, mama took it everywhere during the trips. She attached it on my stroller or car seat or the bassinet on the flights. In a bad mood, I created quite a ruckus, but this toy, most of the time, calmed me down and even made me laugh.
9. Fold And Go Playard For Indoor And Outdoor Use
Regalo My Play Portable Playard Indoor and Outdoor, 8-Panel (4.4 out of 5 stars, 301 customer reviews), $78.99
Without feeling confined, I played in this all the time during trips and dozed off to sleep. Mama bought the eight-panel one, which is quite spacious; the six-panel one being a bit smaller. My mama checked it in as baby baggage, which is free. Even without papa being around for help, she could easily set it up and take it down. Inside hotel rooms, it kept me away from bumping my head on the beds or tables. Mama even took it to the beach and I played without putting sand in my mouth, eyes or ears, which I tend to do a lot these days. It doesn’t have padded bottom though. Rest, it rocks!
10. Travel Organizers With Laundry Bag
Among all the items here, this is the most uninteresting one for me, but mama loved it. I guess it was easy for her to keep my things organized, which saved her a lot of time while packing and unpacking. I never used it, so let me not write more!
